The Journey Begins
We'll start the evening with Redbreast 18 itself, taking the time to enjoy the finished product in its full, harmonized glory. By setting a benchmark with the final bottling first, you'll be able to appreciate its signature complexity, rich mouthfeel, and balanced fruit-and-spice profile.
From there, we’ll take the liquid apart dram by dram, deconstructing the master blender's work to reveal exactly what goes into creating this magnificent whiskey.
The Component Casks
Andrew will guide us through four individual component whiskeys—each aged for more than 18 years and drawn from a different cask type:
- Port
- Cream Sherry
- Oloroso Sherry
- Ex-Bourbon
Tasted individually, you'll get the chance to discover the distinctive character each cask brings and begin to understand how these different flavours and influences come together in the final Redbreast 18.
The Grand Finale
Once we've explored all the pieces that make up Redbreast 18, we'll bring everything back together for one final, very special pour: the unreleased, not-for-sale, cask-strength version of Redbreast 18—an expression very few people will ever have the chance to taste.
